LOWFIVES
Song: ...and crisis

Lauren Trout and Jill Rogers-Jensen have been playing music together since 2003, when they were working in Washington, D.C. as bike messengers. The duo moved to Boston in 2004 and began playing shows and recording under the name “Teklo”. Following multiple lineup changes, Jill approached friend and local musician Chris O’Keeffe about singing, and - following a misunderstanding about the meaning of the phrase “double dipping” - Chris became the lead vocalist. More shakeups found the band without a bassist. Andrew Smith was volunteered by his older sister at a party, and despite having never touched the instrument, became the permanent bassist of the newly dubbed lowfives. Their debut EP Flux not Fix/Tokyo Engine pt. 1 consisted of material recorded in late 2010 and early 2011, and was released in the spring of 2011. They currently reside in Cambridge, MA.
