Thank you for your interest in serving on the Board of Directors of Queer Control Records (QCR). We are always looking for additional board members/volunteer support. As you may know, QCR is still a fairly young organization, so the obligations of serving on the Board at this point are pretty minimal. We are interested in individuals who have at least 1-2 hours per week to devote, possess a relevant skill (e.g. writing, research, graphic design, PR experience, etc.), and most of all, love queer bands and music!
The Board is required to meet (in person, by group chat, or conference call) for at least one annual board meeting. Most decisions and plans can be made more informally (without meeting, minutes, etc.), however, there are certain things that absolutely require a board vote, such as entering a lease, taking a loan, passing budgets, paying officers and/or directors, amending bylaws, etc. As a board member, you can do a lot or a little – it is up to you.
